Domain Troubleshooting

Solutions for common domain connection issues.

Validation Taking Too Long

If validation exceeds 30 minutes:

Check your DNS records:

  1. Log in to your domain registrar
  2. Verify the records match exactly what Urumi shows
  3. Look for typos or extra spaces

Verify propagation:

  1. Visit whatsmydns.net
  2. Enter your domain and record type
  3. Check if records are visible globally

Common causes:

  • Records not saved properly
  • Wrong record type selected
  • Typo in Name or Value
  • Registrar caching old values

Validation Failed

If validation fails:

Resolution Steps

  1. Delete the incorrect record at your registrar
  2. Add the record again with correct values
  3. Wait 5-10 minutes
  4. If still failing, contact support

Domain Already Connected Error

If you see "domain already in use":

  • The domain may be connected to another Urumi store
  • Contact [email protected] to resolve ownership

SSL Certificate Issues

After activation, if you see SSL warnings:

Wait for certificate provisioning:

  • SSL certificates are generated after activation
  • This can take up to 15 minutes
  • Try again after waiting

Clear browser cache:

  • Old certificates may be cached
  • Clear browser cache or try incognito mode

Domain Not Loading

If your domain doesn't load after activation:

Check DNS propagation:

  • Final CNAME may still be propagating
  • Check propagation status online
  • Wait up to 30 minutes

Verify CNAME target:

  • Ensure the final CNAME points to your Production URL
  • The target should be yourstore-production.myscalablesite.com

Test with different network:

  • Try from a different network or device
  • Some ISPs cache DNS longer

Registrar-Specific Issues

Cloudflare

  • Ensure proxy status is DNS only (gray cloud) during setup
  • You can enable proxy after domain works

GoDaddy

  • Changes can take longer to propagate
  • Ensure you're editing the correct domain

Namecheap

  • Clear Namecheap's DNS cache if available
  • Ensure BasicDNS or PremiumDNS is active

Getting Help

If you can't resolve your domain issue:

  1. Take a screenshot of your DNS settings
  2. Note any error messages from the Urumi dashboard
  3. Contact [email protected] with:
    • Your store name
    • Domain you're trying to connect
    • Screenshots of DNS configuration
    • Any error messages displayed
